Visiting Silverglades

We can, occasionally, allow prearranged, prepaid visits to Silverglades by non-members. Please contact us for more details.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of any particular dates or sites.

Admission to Silverglades is by Membership Card.

Any person (member or non-member alike) at Silverglades who is unable to produce a valid membership card on request will be charged as a Single Day Visitor. This rule will be strictly adhered to.

If non-members are found to be visiting Silverglades without prior authorisation THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND WILL FORFEIT THE RIGHT TO VISIT IN THE FUTURE.

Spot checks are made on the site from time to time, so it is important to have your Membership card (and any other documents which we may have provided for your visit) available for inspection if required.

Fees (please check with us - these may not be up to date)

Single Day Visitors (non-members) 5.00 GBP per person
Joining fee (single payment, payable over 3 visits) 15.00 GBP [plus membership fee]
Single Person membership 30.00 GBP per year
Family membership 40.00 GBP per year
Overnight camping for non-members (by special arrangement only) 8.00 GBP per unit per night

Membership

Those intending membership must make three accompanied, paid visits to the club as Visitors before they can be accepted as members.

The initial visit must be pre-arranged and accompanied by a committee member. The remaining two visits can be accompanied by an ordinary member.

Each of the three visits will be chargeable (charges listed above).

Guidelines

Visitors must bring their own water and be prepared to be self-sufficient on site. Note that unless there is a club member present there will be no access to water, gas stove or toilet facilities.

Take ALL litter & rubbish home. Leave the site clean and free from debris.

Whilst on the site, remain tidy and be considerate to other users.

Animals

Generally we love pets, but if dogs are brought onto the site they must remain under control at all times and not disturb other site users. Any fouling is to be scooped up and taken home by the owner. Some green bags are available in the club house in case of "emergencies", but please be responsible and bring your own!

Silverglades is a "wildlife-friendly" site so please do not bring any pets that are liable to chase or otherwise disturb the local wildlife.

Smoking

We allow smoking outdoors at Silverglades but, for safety, all smokers MUST use the ashtrays provided as large areas of the site can be a fire risk in dry weather. We are, of course, subject to the Smokefree regulations from 1st July 2007 (there are no exemptions for private clubs), so the clubhouse is a no-smoking area.

Parking

Parking is restricted to the lower areas only. We do not allow vehicles onto higher parts of the site. Those who require such access because of severe physical disabilities must make contact us prior to their visit and special arrangements may be made.
