'Silverglades'
is our idyllic site, close to the beautiful village of Silverdale.
Ten acres of natural woodland where you can relax in one of the smaller
glades where you will probably not see another person, or venture to the
larger clearing beside the clubhouse for more socialising, or maybe a picnic
or barbecue. It is an ideal place to lie in the sun, while the more active
can take advantage of a range of quiet recreational and sporting activities.
Maybe even a walk along our woodland trails. Whichever part of
Silverglades you visit you will have peace and tranquillity. If you want to
socialise, fine. If you want time alone there is no pressure from anyone,
just chill-out and watch the wildlife. We have rare species of butterfly,
colourful dragonfly, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional visit from deer.
For those that fancy a day away from the site, we are ideally situated for visits to Leighton Moss nature reserve
or for walkers wishing to explore the many local paths (OS Explorer map OL 7).
Have a look at our Photo Gallery to see for yourself the beauty of Silverglades.
Our facilities are few, just a small clubhouse with basic cooking and brewing-up equipment, barbecue and picnic tables, and a chemical loo. What we have in plenty is peace, tranquillity, and beautiful surroundings.
We can accommodate a few tents and a couple of small/medium caravans or campers but cannot provide electrical hookups or piped water/waste. Perfect for a few days peace and quiet! The night sky, when clear, is amazing as we have little light pollution here.
Gibraltar Farm campsite (Textile) is only a mile away for anyone with a larger caravan or campervan, or for anyone who wants hot showers, flushing loos etc.
